Handling International Calls

I work for a US based company. In the past we have used Skype to answer international calls which is not a satisfactory solution. I am starting to investigate other ways of routing international calls to our US support numbers and would like to hear how others handle this in their companies. Anyone want to share?
Any good references for information? Having an offshore service organization is not an option.
