hi ,
I am coping well on my job. Thanks to the advise and research. Presently i am faced with a surbodiate that keeps to himself. You need to ask him before he reports happenings in the department to yopu. At exactly close of work, he leaves... WHat do i do to remedy this situation. It's beginning to affect the other person.
Thank you...

Try opening up the channels of communication with him. Make him feel like he is a vital part of the team. Maybe he does not feel like he is part of the team and feels insignificant.
Try and open him up by forcing him to be included with the team. Maybe give him an assignmnet that will enable him to present a topic to the team and present it as well.

Maybe he needs to be motivated and feel part of a team, also its vital to build an open channel and remove communication barriers, by doing so he or she will open up and may speaks about personal issue (if its not work related issues) and you can build anew approach to solve this case.

It's often difficult fitting in to a new team. Maybe, he needs to be approached more, brought in more by other team members. Not just in business conversation, but in more personal or non business talk. By doing this, he may begin to feel 'accepted' and a more vital team member.
We have a large team (30+folks) and I've had new people comment that they felt like there were 'clicks' or at least there were 'perceived clicks' and they didn't feel welcome. It wasn't intential, it simply takes 'intentional thought' to include others in our conversations when we don't know them as well.
