Customer Service Apprenticeship Program Celebrates Sustained Achievement

Customer service apprentices

Middlesbrough College, Northern Skills, and Sage have partnered to create an award-winning apprenticeship program with a core focus on refining customer service skills.

Following its success at the NECCA, this pioneering program brought forth a slew of outstanding results, showcasing apprentices’ aptitude for resolving issues promptly, with a staggering 90.1% rate of success on the first try.

The training blueprint of the apprenticeship includes a comprehensive 6-week induction, structured on-the-job training guided by dedicated mentors to ensure the holistic growth of the apprentices.

Regular progress checks and stimulating extras – think influential guest speakers and vision-orienting career days – prevent plateaus and keep apprentices hungry for knowledge.

The apprentices have their progress regularly assessed across multiple areas, and most of them stick with it long-term.

Zoe Lewis, Principal and Chief Executive of Middlesbrough College, said: “We are incredibly proud of this program and the success of our apprentices. The collaboration with Northern Skills and Sage has been instrumental in creating a world-class learning experience that equips young people with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the customer service industry.

“This program is a shining example of how collaboration can benefit both businesses and educational institutions.”

With this powerful alliance, a new breed of customer service professionals is emerging – talented, motivated, and furnished with the real-world skills needed to forge lasting relationships with customers.
