D2 Facilities has used job management software from BigChange to underpin expansion of its facilities management services.
Previously known as D2 Maintenance, the Kent and London based company achieved a 200 percent increase in turnover in its first year of operation.
D2 Facilities provides a range of building maintenance and facilities management services to blue chip clients across London and the South East. BigChange, which manages everything from vehicle tracking to invoicing, has been a critical part of this success providing 24/7 visibility of the mobile operation, total transparency and customisable workflows in a single, integrated system.
“One of our favourite phrases is ‘if you don’t schedule time for maintenance, your assets will schedule it for you’,” commented Daniel Everard, Group Director at D2 Facilities. “This can also be true for business management; if you don’t invest time and effort into business growth your business won’t grow.
“BigChange has given us the tools we need to launch this new division with confidence,” he continued. “It is easy to use and it gives us total visibility, from any location, providing transparency for support staff, management and our customers.”
D2 Facilities implemented the BigChange system to replace previous electronic workforce management packages which were failing to keep up with changing requirements and were becoming increasingly expensive. D2 Facilities selected the BigChange job management system, which incorporates customer relationship management (CRM), job scheduling, live tracking, resource management, job finance, and business intelligence as it was user friendly yet offered the functionality and professional presentation required.
Using the BigChange system, D2 Facilities can instantly see where all engineers are at a given point in time with their location displayed on a large screen in the office. This is improving the company’s response to emergency callouts and boosting customer service with live updates and accurately calculated ETAs. Intelligent scheduling of engineers is improving operational efficiency and reducing travel times and costs. The customisable workflows and job sheets, all accessible from the BigChange app, are reducing time-consuming paperwork, boosting on site performance and improving communication.
The financial management and business intelligence tools that the BigChange system offers are helping to support D2 Facilities’ expansion. An easy to interpret and visually attractive dashboard gives managers ‘snapshots’ of business activity whilst advanced tools allow them to drill down into performance, such as reviewing the profit and loss of individual jobs or reporting on first time fix rates. Integration with the company’s accounting software XERO is also reducing the administration resource required, reducing the potential for errors and improving cashflow.
“BigChange has helped us evolve as a business,” added Tom Mills, Group Director at D2 Facilities. “With BigChange supporting us we know we can take on any challenge and continue to perform to the standards we and our clients expect.”
Part of the D2 Group, D2 Facilities provide a wide range of building maintenance and facilities management services to commercial, industrial, and public sector clients. From carpentry to waste removal, decorating to plumbing and drainage to refurbishment, D2’s team of maintenance engineers, project managers, and support staff are experienced in the building maintenance and facilities management industry. From its Kent headquarters D2 Facilities manages a fleet of 12 vehicles, including specialist drainage tankers, and is proud to work with organisations including Savills, Kent County Council and the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford. D2 Facilities is part of a wider group including D2 Integrated Systems.
