The Evolution of Jovee AI: How My Background in Sales and Customer Service Inspired a Game-Changing AI Virtual Assistant

When I started my career in sales at 19, working in telecom retail and knocking on doors, I never imagined I’d eventually lead a team at the bleeding edge of AI, virtual assistants, and customer service.

Back then, I was driven by the thrill of connecting with people and solving their problems one conversation at a time. Little did I know that those early experiences—those countless hours spent in living rooms and around kitchen tables—would eventually shape my approach to reimagining customer service for an entire industry.

As I rose from sales agent to VP of sales by 22, I saw firsthand the complexities and frustrations that come with managing customer service in high-volume settings like telecom. I quickly noticed how deep the dissatisfaction ran.

It wasn’t just the high cost of maintaining effective contact centers that bothered me. More importantly, customers were left dissatisfied, dealing with poor communication, long wait times, and disjointed interactions.

Telecom customers are often left waiting on hold for 45 minutes or more; and when they finally reach an agent, many are shuffled between departments, forced to repeat themselves again and again and again…

Infusing Real-World Experience into AI

When I co-founded Sales-Hub in 2020, I made it my mission to bridge this gap between what consumers are getting and what they deserve.

That’s where Jovee AI comes in.

Jovee is an AI-powered virtual assistant that doesn’t just automate interactions but elevates them. And what sets it apart is its ability to incorporate the lessons I learned in those early sales days. It understands not just what customers are saying, but why they’re saying it, making interactions more natural, efficient, and satisfying. This is critical, especially in telecom contact centers where customer frustrations are particularly high.

From my years of going door-to-door, I realized that sales success hinges on genuine relationships. I wasn’t just pitching products—I was listening, adapting, and empathizing. I took that same philosophy when designing Jovee. Leveraging sentiment analysis, our virtual assistant doesn’t just respond; it engages in a way that makes customers feel heard, ensuring seamless transitions between human agents and AI, while addressing customer concerns with empathy.

A New Approach to Customer Service

Most AI systems today struggle with three core issues: latency, voice quality, and the ability to handle complex conversations. We tackled these challenges head-on. Unlike generic chatbots, Jovee AI was designed from the ground up to manage sales and customer service interactions seamlessly across multiple channels—whether web chat, voice calls, or virtual avatars. This omnichannel capability called OmniConnect™ flexibility is essential.

Jovee AI is the only virtual assistant in telecom currently available that can manage both sales and service across multiple interfaces while maintaining contextual continuity. Whether a customer starts with a technical issue over the phone or transitions to a billing question via text, Jovee ensures that the conversation flows seamlessly. This is crucial in the telecom environment, where customers cite long wait times and repeated transfers as two of their biggest frustrations.

There are a lot of companies racing to create chatbots to help customers, but we’ve found the real differentiator comes down to the training. Our team at Sales-Hub has been immersed in the telecom sector for years, giving us insight into the specific pain points and expectations of both customers and agents. This allows us to tailor Jovee’s language model with precision, creating a virtual assistant that’s not only accurate but also contextually aware.

Jovee can pick up on slang, cultural nuances, and even subtle shifts in consumers’ moods—things that many other bots struggle to achieve.

One of the most rewarding aspects of building Jovee has been watching it evolve from a basic chatbot to a sophisticated virtual assistant capable of handling 85% of our client’s customer interactions autonomously. That’s not just a technical achievement—it’s the result of infusing my sales experience into every aspect of its design. I’ve sat in, literally, thousands of homes across America, having deep conversations with customers, not just selling, but listening to their fears, needs, and demands.

Jovee mirrors that experience, using AI to foster genuine connections, and providing actionable, empathetic responses in real time.

And what about the other 15% that AI can’t handle on its own? That’s where our human-in-the-loop system comes into play. We still envision a role for contact center employees, empowering them to handle higher workloads with more efficiency. We do that by supercharging their helpfulness, making one highly trained contact center worker capable of monitoring 1,000 inbound customer service requests while monitoring a sentiment analysis dashboard. If a call requires a human agent’s intervention, the dashboard will send an alert, allowing the employee to intervene if needed.

Building a Connected Future

I believe that great service comes down to a simple principle–understanding the customer. It’s a lesson I learned from those early days in sales, and one I carry with me today.

For me, my goal for Jovee is clear: to lead the way in telecom innovation, drive progress, and create a connected future for everyone. With Jovee, we’re not just transforming contact centers—we’re setting a new standard for what’s possible when human touch meets advanced technology.
