We have found that the top three Internet providers are EarthLink, AT&T, and Verizon. Let’s learn all about them below!
EarthLink
In the HighSpeedInternet.com survey, EarthLink came in first place in terms of price, speed, reliability, and customer service/support. Despite this, some customers did mention outages and slowdowns. The consistency of EarthLink may depend on where you live, so it’s worth looking into local reviews and compare them to what people in your area are saying about other nearby providers.
Regardless, the excellent pricing transparency and unlimited data, as well as superior customer service of EarthLink, bring it to first place in this particular survey.
AT&T
While AT&T came in second in this survey, it scored highly across all four categories. In fact, when more people than ever before were online during the pandemic, AT&T still saw its overall customer satisfaction rating remain strong.
AT&T provides fiber and DSL services, with fiber customers having the best ratings for speed and customer service. In another survey – the J.D. Power 2020 Residential Internet Service Provider Satisfaction Study – AT&T actually gained top place in the West, South, and North Central areas.
AT&T gained a strong score in terms of reliability. For example, at least 80 percent of all customers had an Internet speed of at least 95 percent or higher compared to the advertised speed.
According to US News & World Report, AT&T tied for second place with Verizon for the best Internet service provider around.
Verizon
Verizon was right behind EarthLink when it came to gaining the most customer satisfaction in terms of price, Internet speed, and reliability. Verizon also landed in third place in terms of customer service/support.
