Bus operator Stagecoach South has launched a dedicated mobile customer service bus aimed at providing face-to-face assistance to passengers across West Sussex, Hampshire, and Surrey.
The mobile support unit will tour town centers, transport hubs, and local community events to deliver personalized, in-person advice. Staff on board will assist travelers with journey planning, route navigation, ticketing options, and contactless payment methods, as well as onboarding passengers onto the operator’s self-service digital tools.
The initiative specifically targets customer segments who prefer direct human assistance or feel less comfortable navigating purely digital platforms. By meeting customers where they are, the strategy seeks to remove friction points in the user journey, rendering public transit more accessible and inclusive across the region.

Highlighting the strategy behind the launch, Marc Reddy, Managing Director of Stagecoach South, emphasized the importance of combining digital tools with direct human interaction to enhance customer experience.
In addition to routing and technical support, visitors to the mobile unit can access guidance on service updates, promotional offers, and cost-saving ticket structures designed to support sustainable local travel.
